BOAA

October 16, 2018 by catbailey

Artist/Photographer Catherine Bailey The thing about creativity is that it is non linear in motion. It preempts future outcomes that you are unaware of. Take this half boat. I’d really like to thank the person who left her for me. As soon as I saw her I imagined her in the Surrey River in Narrawong. Now she is destined for BOAA or the Biennale of Australian Art in Ballarat. Come and join in her transformation or for a chat at the […]

response to permewan’s shed

July 19, 2016 by catbailey

Finding loads of shoe boxes decorated with a running river theme, combined with a flood story from a local elder, I made this installation of the flood watermark on the outside of the Permewan’s shed, in Hamilton, in 2015. It was a quick response to the immediate environment and history of the shed. I love the tag on the outside of the shed.  Bummer it is not mine. I prefer working on the outside of a building and thanks to artist Trevor Flinn for the opportunity to do […]

Falling – coming to a wall near you.

September 19, 2013 by catbailey

This beautifully executed work work is by Frank Makin. He is in year 7 at the Portland Reengagement Centre, Portland, Victoria. He did a pretty amazing jump in order for someone to get the photo of the pose he wanted. He is  a naturally gifted painter and i really enjoyed watching him work. He was very focused. To me it looks like he is free-falling in space, from a great height. Two young artists worked on this paste up. One […]
